Established in 1977 by Arthur Keiser and his mother, Evelyn, the Keiser School in Fort Lauderdale initially focused on career-oriented education for Florida’s burgeoning business and healthcare sectors. Evolving over the years, it changed names several times, becoming Keiser Institute of Technology in 1982 and Keiser College in 1986, introducing associate degrees. 2001, in Keiser expanded to offer bachelor’s degree programs, leading to its final name change to Keiser University in 2006. 2011, it transitioned to a not-for-profit model under Everglades College Inc.

For the 2024-2025 academic year, Keiser University offers Academic Merit Scholarships to new students (First-Year or Transfer) accepted to KU Flagship, with awards ranging from $5,000 to $19,000. Similarly, new Graduate students accepted for the same year can receive awards ranging from $6,000 to $15,000. These scholarships are non-stackable, non-combinable, and non-refundable for cash. Single awards will be for the greater amount awarded.

General Scholarships include the Sibling Award, providing up to 40 percent of tuition for incoming students with a sibling at Flagship, and the Legacy Tuition Grant, offering up to 40 percent of tuition to the sons, daughters, and grandchildren of KU Flagship Alumni. Active members of the Flagship Marching Seahawks may receive up to $8,000 annually. Students participating in KU Flagship Cheer, Dance, or Mascot programs can be awarded up to $8,000 a year at the discretion of coaches after official tryouts.

Moreover, Keiser University extends additional support, such as the $2,000 PTK scholarship for Phi Theta Kappa members and the DECA Scholarship, valued at up to $5,000 per year, renewable for up to four years. To apply for the DECA Scholarship for the Fall semester, the deadline is July 1st.
