University of Chicago Scholarship
UChicago embraces a commitment to recognizing and supporting outstanding student achievements through a diverse array of merit-based scholarships. Automatically considered for these awards, students need not submit a separate application. The University Scholarship acknowledges exceptional academic prowess, leadership, and community commitment, providing partial tuition coverage for four years. The First Phoenix Scholarship specifically supports first-generation college students with a $20,000 four-year scholarship. The Police and Fire Scholarship extends up to full-tuition, four-year scholarships to the children of active-duty, killed on duty, municipal, county, and state police and firefighters.
The Odyssey Scholarship Program, supported by generous donors, enhances academic, social, and career assistance for students from under-resourced families or those pioneering higher education in their families.
Furthermore, the Neubauer Adelante Family Programs focus on financial support for students involved in Hispanic/Latino communities, while UChicago Promise targets Chicagoland area students with financial assistance and additional resources. The university extends its support to outstanding graduates of Chicago Public Schools, educators within the system, and exceptional students from partner schools. Additionally, the City Colleges of Chicago Star Program offers first-year tuition scholarships. Internship awards for meritorious achievement, including Provost’s, President’s, Dean’s, Meriam, Fermi, Rudolf Carnap, and Rowley Scholars, provide financial support for various summer research projects or internships.
UChicago encourages students to explore external scholarship opportunities, offering guidance and compiling a list of third-party scholarships. The university’s partnership with RaiseMe allows students to earn micro-scholarships based on high school achievements, fostering a holistic approach to recognizing and supporting academic excellence.
